Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 6, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Slidde collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses the Service, described in our Terms of Service. Slidde is 18+ only; see Section 8.

2. Information We Collect

Account and profile information: name, username, email address, birthday, gender, bio, profile and cover photos, interests, and languages you add to your profile.

Location information: the city and country you set, and, where you enable it, precise device location used to power Discover, nearby Events, and dating-style distance matching. You can control location access in your device settings and in Settings > Privacy.

Content you create: posts, photos, Shorts videos, Status updates, messages (including text, photos, and voice notes), disappearing "view once" and timed media, event listings, community and group posts, Scratcher activity, and support-ticket messages. Some content is designed to disappear after being viewed or after a set time; see Section 6 for what that does and does not mean.

Social and activity data: who you follow, message, match with, block, or report; likes, comments, RSVPs, ticket purchases, gifts sent and received, coin purchases and balance, and referral activity.

Payment information: when you buy coins or a Premium subscription, our payment processor collects your payment details directly. Slidde does not store your full card number; we retain only transaction records (amount, date, status) needed for your order history, receipts, and fraud prevention.

Device and usage information: device type and identifiers, operating system, app version, IP address, general log and diagnostic data, crash reports, and push-notification tokens. If you use the app offline, actions you take are queued on your device and sent to our servers once you reconnect.

Communications: messages you send our support team, including support-ticket content.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information above to: operate the Service, including your feed, Discover, messaging, Events, Communities, Groups, and Scratcher; power dating and matching features and show you people, posts, and events relevant to your interests and location; process coin purchases, gifts, contributions, ticket sales, and Premium subscriptions, and prevent fraud; send you push notifications, transactional emails, and in-app alerts (you can manage these in Settings > Notifications); moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, including reviewing reports, automated and human review of flagged content, and taking enforcement action; provide customer support; maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service, including keeping an admin audit log of moderation and account actions; comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests; and understand how the Service is used so we can maintain and improve it.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own advertising purposes.

4. How Information Is Shared

With other users: information you make public (your profile, posts, Status, Shorts, event listings, community/group posts) is visible to other users according to your privacy settings. Messages are visible to the people in that conversation.

With service providers: we use third-party providers to run the Service, including a database, authentication, and storage provider (Supabase) that hosts your account data, profile media, and messages; a cloud storage provider (Cloudflare R2) that hosts video content, including Shorts; a push-notification delivery service; and a payment processor for coin and subscription purchases. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, and only to provide their service to us.

For legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Slidde, our users, or the public, including sharing reports of suspected child exploitation with the relevant authorities as required by law.

Business transfers: if Slidde is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

With your direction: when you choose to share content, invite a friend, or connect a third-party feature we explicitly offer.

5. Location Data

Discover, Events, and dating/matching use approximate or precise location, depending on your device permission, to show you relevant people, posts, and events and to calculate distance. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings; some features (like distance-based matching) will not work correctly without it.

6. Messaging, Disappearing Content, and Screenshots

Some content, like "view once" photos and timed messages, is designed to be removed from our systems and from the recipient's device after it is viewed or after a set time, and voice notes and photos you send are stored only as needed to deliver them. However, we cannot prevent another person from saving, screen-recording, or photographing content shown to them, including disappearing content, before or as it is viewed. Do not send anything through the Service that you would not want kept or shared beyond its intended recipient. Slidde does not offer, and does not claim to offer, any technical protection against screenshotting.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period after deletion to allow for recovery of an accidental deletion, fraud investigation, and legal or accounting requirements. Time-limited content (like 24-hour Status updates and view-once media) is deleted from our active systems on the schedule described where you post it, though it, like anything else, can remain in backups for a limited additional period and in copies others made of it before it disappeared. We retain admin moderation and audit-log records, and records of enforcement actions such as suspensions or bans, for as long as needed for safety, legal, and compliance purposes, even after the underlying content or account is removed.

8. Children's Privacy

Slidde is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it and take appropriate action on the account, including suspension or termination. If you believe someone under 18 is using Slidde, please report it to support@slidde.app.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You can review and update most of your profile information directly in the app under Settings > Account, control who can message or find you and other visibility settings under Settings > Privacy, manage push notifications under Settings > Notifications, and block or report other users and content throughout the app. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, or to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, contact privacy@slidde.app; we will verify your identity before acting on the request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, restrict or object to certain processing, and (where applicable) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell personal information as described in Section 3. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@slidde.app; you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational measures, including encryption of data in transit and access controls limiting who can view your data (including within our own admin tools, which are role-gated and two-factor protected), to help protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in, including in the jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the "Effective date" below and, where required by law, provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
